I wanted to create an Easter card that captures the celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord. When I see the sunrise behind the cross, It makes me want to proclaim "He is not here, but is Risen" (Which is going to be stamped on the inside... as soon as I borrow the set from a friend.)
To make the card, I used my brayer to cover the glossy white cs with Barely Banana ink. Then, punched out a 1-3/8" circle from a post it note and tore a scrap of cardstock to make the hill and placed them over the glossy cardstock. Using the bouncing brayer technique, I added rays of blush blossom, apricot appeal, and pixie pink. Removed the "sun" circle and "hill" scrap and used the other part of the scrap cardstock that the hill had been torn from to mask my sky. I sponged Garden Green ink on the hill and stamped the cross on the hill.
On a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock, I stamped the cross again and ran it through the Big Shot with the texturizing plate that makes the cross look like wood. Cut out the cross & draped a very thin scrap of white cardstock over the cross to look like a shroud, adhering it to the back of the cross. I attached the cross to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals to give it a 3-D effect. Then stamped a greeting on layered punches.
Thanks for looking! Happy Easter!
